A Messi-less Inter Miami dominate the Houston Dynamo
On a sold-out night at Shell Energy Stadium, fans came expecting a big showdown — some hoping to catch Lionel Messi in action. Messi didn’t make the trip, but Inter Miami still showed up with a stacked lineup. The match quickly turned into a dominant display by Miami.
The visitors struck early, and before long they had built a commanding lead thanks to ruthless attacking play. Luis Suárez — without Messi on the pitch — orchestrated much of the offense, finishing with one goal and three assists. Telasco Segovia bagged a brace, while Tadeo Allende also found the net.
Houston battled, and late in the match Nicolás Lodeiro got on the scoresheet to make it 4–1 — a consolation effort in a tough night. In the end, though, Inter Miami’s sharp finishing and control of the tempo left no doubt.
Houston's defensive struggles costs them the first 2 matches regardless of being at home.
