Houston hosted another chapter of the Clásico de México, and the city set the perfect stage for it. A packed NRG Stadium split in yellow and red created the kind of noise and tension that usually stays inside Estadio Azteca or Akron — but on this night, it belonged to Houston.

América wasted no time taking control. In the first half, Rodrigo Aguirre finished off a clean buildup to put Las Águilas ahead, sending their side of the stadium into celebration. Right before halftime, Illian Hernández doubled the lead with a well-placed header, giving América a 2–0 cushion and putting Chivas in a difficult spot heading into the break.

Chivas pushed harder in the second half, creating moments of pressure and a few half-chances, but their finishing never matched their urgency. América stayed composed, absorbed the waves of attacks, and managed the match with experience — the kind of game control that often separates the two sides in this rivalry.

The final whistle wrapped up a solid 2–0 win for América and another intense Clásico played far from home. For Houston, it was a showcase night — big-game energy, top-tier fan turnout, and the full emotion of Mexico’s biggest rivalry brought to the city.

Here are some moments from the Clásico in Houston.
